When I first signed up for Hubspot’s Pipeline Generation Bootcamp, I thought it would be another series of webinars that I would watch passively in the background while I do other things, if I wasn’t too busy. That was how I treated a previous bootcamp that I had signed up for and then wound up forgetting about.
All that changed when I was speaking with my rep at Hubspot and she said that she was really jealous that I was getting to spend that much time and learn so much from THE Dan Tyre. Wow, maybe I should pay more attention to this. I’m so glad I did. During the eight week class, the world happened to turn upside down, and one of the major benefits of the Pipeline Generation Bootcamp was having some grounding for me that the world was just tilted, not ending. But it also changed my business in some key ways that I am going to be pushing my clients to adopt as well. Here’s a few:
The Lions Who Make the Calls Get the Sales
With over a decade of sales experience, I didn’t need to be told that outreach is important, but a reminder of how picking up the phone and calling people still are picking up (especially after COVID) was very much welcome.
Use Video Email in Your Prospecting
Tools like Vidyard have been around for a while now, but they’re no longer shiny objects, and they really improve your open rate for your sales prospecting emails. The fact that vidyard is now integrated directly into Hubspot and you can put into your sequences is a sales game changer.
Have a Real Reason to Call Your Prospects
This is another tip that sounds like a no brainer that most of us sleep on. When was the last time you said you were calling to check in? Or worse when you did talk to someone for the first time and made it all about you and your product? Take a quick look at their website or Social Media profiles (especially LinkedIn) and find a reason to call them. It will totally relax people and make your conversation easier.
Voicemails are Back
For years there has been a debate about whether or not to leave voicemails when cold calling. I have gone back and forth on how to use email, but technological advances have made me start leaving a voicemail EVERY SINGLE TIME. Modern phones and phone systems, show every call that comes in, and even transcribe voicemails for quick reading. Also, if you don’t leave a voicemail, it must not have been very important for you to reach them. Be super clear on your phone number because it can turn into a clickable link to call you back with one touch. Mind Blown.
There are so many other great things I learned that I will be passing onto my clients. Thanks Hubspot and Dan Tyre for such a great Bootcamp!
